Me and my mum

Something I love to do with my little one is to read books, there are so many beautiful children's books out there and the library provides us with a big variety so we can rotate the books we read frequently. This evening before going to sleep munchkin chose a book called "me and my mum" ( Helen Exley) for me to read to her, we haven't read it for a while and I had forgotten about it, its a lovely book to read for any mum, but I think especially as a single mum, because it talks about all the things the mum and the child do during the day and it includes a lot of positiveness about spending time with mum. The book ends by saying something a long the lines of  "no matter how busy mum is, she still makes time for us to do special things together, just me and my mum" I haven't quoted completely correctly but its words to that effect!. We read lots of books ,her favourites are "spots birthday" (Eric Hill), "So much" (Trish Cooke) and the traditional Goldilocks and the three bears, especially the one by Stephen Tucker. Would love to hear about your childs favourite books, because its always nice to share stories with our children.

Diary of a single mom

This is a great series about 3 "single moms" who live near each other, with a lot of inspirational quotes for all the single mummys out there http://pic.tv/singlemom/ Start with Episode 1, Season 1, you can access the videos on the right, they are all free to watch.

Christmas Party

We went to a christmas party, held at princess' gymnastic class today, there was a bouncy castle, it was long and the kids had to jump across it to one end and then jump off and go back to the beginning, it was the first time I had seen one like this, they also had a visit from santa, played games and ate party food. Was a nice way to fill up the hours left till christmas, because now I feel we are just waiting for that. Last night we went for a walk around the village where we live, to look at christmas lights on peoples houses, there are a lot decorated with different coloured lights, snowmen, santa, reindeer etc. Really lovely to go in the dark when they are all switched on. Its christmas eve tomorrow, I have wrapped all the presents for her, and will probably wrap a few for myself, so that we can open presents together on christmas morning.

What are your little ones wishes for christmas?

So I've been neglecting my blog lately, a few reasons for this, 1 - I think no one reads it and 2 - I just have been busy. Christmas is coming, so have been attending Christmas concert, parties, writing out cards for my little one to send to her class mates. I do enjoy this time of year, but its been really cold and so it makes me want to hibernate. My 3 year old is asking for " a psp, barbie water park, barbie hair style, a drum and a guinea pig" for Christmas, I will not be buying the psp, however I have got the guinea pig (toy) by fur-real friends, have posted video of one below, also I have got her some slippers, the drum, a hello kitty game for her ds, lots of stocking fillers that I cant even remember what, a bag and a few other bits, my family will take care of her other requests which I didn't buy, she will be very spoilt, as she is every Christmas and birthday. Will post a photo of her with Santa for you all to see. :)

ugh feeling ill

The weather is beautiful, my daughter is well, I have a cold, a little cold which is making me feel crap right now! I never remember how rubbish colds make you feel until I get one. Its hard to look after a toddler while feeling ill, but at least its just a cold and I'm really hoping she does not get it too.  Really could use some of this right now.

Long time

Been a long time since i've been here, well my little one is back at school now which is great, she's enjoying being back with her friends and I am enjoying the daily break I now get! Not much has happened since I last wrote, only that I think she is not allergic to cows milk after all, but actually the cereal, such as weetabix and cerelac which go right through her!! she loves them and its been hard to not allow her to have them, harder than it was keeping her off milk! while i write she is sat eating "trumpets" (crumpets). and watching her favourite movie Rio (for a change). I booked some tickets to see Annie in the theatre this week, there is a scheme at a theatre near me which offers free tickets to those under 26, so we were lucky enough to get them free.. it is showing around christmas time. Talking of christmas, my princess would like "barbie water park", any ideas where I can get it for under £25? Thanks for reading, will try update it more  frequently from now.

Hair

I love doing my little ones hair, I feel it is a real bonding time for us, as we chat to each other and she enjoys the contact - often falls asleep she is so relaxed! It took me over 2 and a half hours to do this style this evening. Because it takes a long time it occupies me for a few hours and makes the evening go faster! I am happy with the outcome but feel it could have been neater... practice makes perfect though, its only the second time i've ever done it.

Tram to Blackpool

Yum Yum, eating candy floss

Our Holiday

We went on a few nights away to celebrate my parents birthdays, we stayed near Blackpool and Cleveleys. The first thing we did when we arrived was went to the beach! Princess loved the beach and spent a lot of time collecting water, digging holes and making sandcastles. Afterwards we went to book in to our hotel, which was lovely and clean, during the evening we went to the entertainment where we played bingo and listened to the entertainer sing. The next morning we went to look around the shops, went in a few amusements and played on the 2p machines. I also won a Jessie Doll from toy story from the grabbing machines, which only cost me 20p!!! We had fish and chips for dinner then went in to Blackpool on a tram. In Blackpool we walked along the pier and went on a carousel (me too!) from the carousel we could see Blackpool tower. The sun was shining and after our walk we took a tram back to the hotel and joined the entertainment again. Princess danced with some older girls who were staying there, at 10:30 we went to bed and she fell fast asleep! On our last day we went to the beach again before going home. We had a fantastic time and I wished we could have stayed longer.. maybe next year!!

Beautiful Hair

I have been attempting to do hair like this for a long time and finally learnt to do it, I was proud of my achievement in the end after years of trying!

First Taco's

I introduced my little one to Taco's about a week ago, She really loved them! Here are a few photos!

This is not spaghetti bolognaise, This is Pasta!

A poem to my child..

Just for this morning I am going to
smile when I see your face and laugh
when I feel like crying.

Just for this morning, I will let you
choose what you want to wear,
and smile and say how perfect it is.

Just for this morning, I am going to step
over the laundry and pick you up and take you to
the park to play.

Just for this morning, I will leave the
dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put
that puzzle of yours together.

Just for this afternoon, I will unplug
the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with
you in the backyard and blow bubbles.

Just for this afternoon, I will not yell
once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and
whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one
if he comes by.

Just for this afternoon, I won't worry
about what you are going to be when you grow up, or
second guess every decision I have made where you are
concern ed.

Just for this afternoon, I will let you
help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you
trying to fix them.

Just for this afternoon, I will take us
to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can
have both toys.

Just for this evening, I will hold you in
my arms and tell you a story about how you were
born and how much I love you.

Just for this evening, I will let you
splash in the tub and not get angry.

Just for this evening, I will let you
stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.

Just for this evening, I will snuggle
beside you for hours, and miss my favourite TV shows.

Just for this evening when I run my
finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be
grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.

I will think about the mothers and
fathers who are searching for their missing children, the
mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's
graves instead of their bedrooms. The mothers
and fathers who are in hospital rooms
watching their children suffer senselessly and screaming
inside that little body

And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold
you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then,
that I will thank God for you, and ask him for
nothing, except one more day.............

Cinema

Forgot to write that we went to the cinema with friends to see "Rio" a few weeks back, it was fantastic and I now bought it on dvd. Really enjoyed the movie and being with friends. If you get the chance to see Rio I think you should, especially if you have kids, its definitely one of the more bearable kids movies! Here are a few pics of our munchkins!

Swinging in the park

Sorry for being quiet

I am sorry for my lack of posts recently, I have hardly been online, choosing to chill out and read in bed instead of go on my laptop. Anyway, the bed tent is still working well, she falls asleep quickly in there and sleeps around 11 hours a night. We have been visiting different parks recently, think we still prefer the one near by, as almost every time we go, we see a friend or two from pre-school and princess gets to play with her friends. It is my dads 50th birthday today, we have been celebrating over the last few weeks, as it was my mums birthday a few weeks ago too, tomorrow we go away for a few nights, princess cannot wait to go to the beach and go on "holiday". So again I will be quiet, but will definitely update when I return. Will struggle keeping her from having an ice cream, she loves it, but it makes her feel very ill. I feel so cruel when she asks for one, she hardly likes ice lollies so its not a good substitute unfortunately. I wish so much that milk free products were easily available for her and all the others who are allergic to cows milk. Will post when we return.

A few pics from the parks.

Sleeping in own bed

Something my little one has never been very good at is firstly settling herself to sleep alone and secondly staying in her own bed, we've had good stages and not so good ones. At the moment shes struggling to fall asleep alone, but today we went to Ikea and I saw a bed tent which I bought for her, she was so excited to try it out, even wanting to skip supper and story time (we did both though, as I knew the novelty would probably wear off after 5 mins in there!), Anyway I took her to bed at 7:15, put her in her bed with the bed tent and by 7:30 she was fast asleep!!!! I'm thrilled at how it has worked, yes the novelty is likely to wear off, but the big thing is I know she can fall asleep alone if she wants to! Here is a photo of the bed tent we bought (this is not her bed though). I guess its worth a try for anyone out there struggling to settle their toddlers on an evening!

Barbie and the rockstars

I picked this video up from a charity shop for just 10p, its very old fashioned, but its my little girls favourite thing to watch! It's much better than the most recent barbie dvds, of fairytopia etc. There is a lot of music in it and if you can pick it up - not sure if its still available to buy, I definitely recommend it for all of you who like Barbie or have little girls that do! Amazon probably has it!

Picnic

This time of year is a lovely time to have picnics in the park.. the best bit about it, its free !!! We went to a playgroup picnic today, and the weather was gorgeous. Princess took part in a few kids races, sack race, egg and spoon and running. She did surprisingly well in them! Will post a vid or two later of her doing the races. My mum came with us today which is always nice, especially as things like this are always attended by many fathers it can feel like I am always on my own. Nice to have the extra support. My parents go away next week, which I think I will find quite hard, although it is only 5 days, I know I will be lonely in the evenings not spending time with them, atleast i've always got my precious little girl with me. :)

I love vitasoy

Princess finally will drink a little of the chocolate soya milk, shes gone off the goat milk, she will drink around half a carton a day of vitasoy, so its better than nothing. Here's a pic of her enjoying it with her breakfast!

Hungry Fish at tropical world

Pre-School Boosters

I took my lil one for her pre-school boosters yesterday, I was anxious that she was going to get very upset and not let the nurse do it. However, the complete opposite happened, there were 2 nurses, one either side of her and they injected her at the same time, one in each arm, she just sat on my lap smiling. No tears at all, what a brave girl. She even asked this morning if she could go for her injections again so she could have another sticker.

This morning we went to tropical world with my friend, it is a big inside "tropical world" with butterflies, meerkats, bats, tamarins, turtles, birds, fish ,snakes, iguanas etc. You walk through different environments, we fed the huge fish and watched bats munching on fruit. It was my little one's first time there and I think it was a great experience for her. Afterwards she ran around outside, we played hide and seek in the gardens and after went for a coffee in starbucks.

This afternoon when princess woke from her nap we went to meet friends at the park, before arriving home to meet my friend who has given me a hoover she no longer needs. I've been needing one for a while as mine broke. Now I have hoovered the floor, made dinner and we are watching 64 zoo lane on cbeebies.

We havent yet made plans for tomorrow but I will do so this evening. Thanks to everyone who reads :)

Parties and leaving.

Well we have had a week full of playgroup parties, and at the weekend we are going to a leaving party AND a birthday party. Its lovely to be invited to places, however the leaving party will be sad, as my friend is going back to her country, it's unlikely we will see her again and if we do it wont be often. Most friends I make are from other countries and after a year or so they tend to go back. So for summer for the past few years it's meant friends moving on and September is a time for me to meet new people and make new friends. I had found it quite hard to deal with, but I still get close to people and know that we were there for each other while they were around. I think of them all daily and facebook and skype provide a great way to keep in touch and see how they are getting on. If I had more money I would love to go see them all, when I win the lotto !! :)

IF YOU LIKE MY BLOG...

School's Out For Summer!

The end of the school year is here and its been a very busy day for us today. Princess had her last day at pre-school until September , 7 weeks to entertain her will not be easy as our days are very packed during term time and everything stops during the holidays. After pre-school today we went to the end of term party at the playgroup we attend on a Thursday , they had hired an entertainer who did a disco with lots of dancing and games with the children, she really enjoyed herself. We finished off our day with a trip to the park for an hour before coming home to cook dinner, and clean the house. We had a bath, watched Peppa pig and now she is fast asleep :). I love these busy days, which is why I am dreading the holidays, but we will definitely go swimming once a week, another day we will spend in town and visiting my friend Vern and her little son. We go to the park everyday that we can but it doesn't take up more than an hour of time. I think as a single mum I especially need days that are filled or I would stay home lonely all day as well as at night.

Surprisingly sunny!

What a lovely day its been , the rain didnt show once! The sun has been out and the temperature has been warm. This morning we set off to the playgroup we go to, they were having teddy bears picnic with all the kids, it was very busy and a lot of fun. After I went to see my friend Vern, the children played beautifully with bubbles on her balcony. Once we left there, we went to the market where I bought some brocolli and things for tea. Princess slept on the way home in the bus, so I decided to take her to the park as we got off the bus, to wear her out before bedtime, I would like to watch itv2, Peter Andre "here to help" this evening at 8pm. Hope I get to see it and she is sleeping by then.
                                                  Swinging at the park!

Rain Rain Rain

Well its rained all weekend and its forecast to rain all week! So we're looking for things to do inside during these rainy days, so far we have done painting and baking, we also went for a walk outside for princess to splash in the puddles. Other suggestions welcome :)
Jumping in muddy puddles (like peppa pig!)
Walking to school in the rain!

Dairy Free cookies

Planning to give these a whirl this afternoon when princess finishes school  http://www.puredairyfree.co.uk/recipe.php?id=52

School Holidays Approaching

School holidays approaching... these words are enough to make me feel depressed! not because I want my girl to be at school, but because all the playgroups we attend close for the summer, and unlike a lot of people it means a lot of time with nothing for us to do. Or I have to spend money for us to do things, which is not easy..

Dancing with friends

such a sweet vid of my darling with her friends, had to end the vid when the girl pushed mine over!

Weekends and Families

As a single mummy I have always found weekends considerably harder than week days. Mainly because my friends spend their weekends with their husband and families, and I often spend time alone with my little one. I usually see family but they work as well and have busy lives so weekends are their busiest times. I don't envy not having a husband it just makes it hard for me to find friends to see on the weekend and wherever we go is full of couples. This morning I took my sweetie swimming, when we arrived she saw a friend from pre-school who was with her mum, dad and sister. Was nice to see somebody there and she had someone to play with. If my funds allow it, I am hoping to take her swimming every week so that she learns to swim early. I think I was around 4 or 5 when I learnt to swim, so it would be good if she could learn young too. The afternoon we spent with family, my grandma had bought my princess a scooter, with flashing lights and it plays muisc and sings LOUDLY. Very cute, I appreciate everything my family does, they love her so much and are always playing with her and teaching her new things. While I write this she is kissing me on my cheeks. My little angel. A quick note to say WELL DONE to my big boy lito for staying dry through the night, we love you lots like jelly tots :) .

A Message For My Child

Submitted by: tina c

A Message for My Child

I wish that I could show you
all the things that I have seen.

I wish that I could take you
everywhere that I have been.

I wish that I could indicate
the places where I fell,

And keep you, thus, from tripping
on those “rougher” spots as well.

I wish that I could do all this
and save you from the strife.

But I know that I’d be sparing you
the lessons of your life.

And you must learn those lessons
as hard as that may be,

Just know that you will always have
a helping hand from me.

Pink

Munchkin was invited to her friends for tea today, we had never been before, they had a huge garden, which she spent almost the whole time in! Playing and riding the bikes. The little boy she was playing with , his favourite colour is pink, so he had a few pink toys, the bike was pink, which caused some friction, as my little one thinks pink/purple is for girls and the other colours are for boys!. Shes pretty laid back though and let him play with the pink things while she took the other colours. Personally i'm not sure how I would feel if my little boy was obsessed with pink and girls toys, your thoughts?!

Swimming

Yesterday I took little miss swimming, she really enjoyed it and was desperate to swim alone without armbands, so i let her try and let go of her, she went under the water but came out smiling!! She still was insistent she could swim alone!! Hopefully in a few years she will be swimming alone. The chlorine in the water aggravates her skin a lot so unfortunately we cannot go swimming as much as we would like to. Today we are going to rest as shes pretty worn out from yesterday and coughing quite a bit from hayfever.

A poem I try to keep in mind when raising my little one

If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again

by Diane Loomans
If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self esteem first, and the house later.
I'd fingerpaint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

Growing too fast

My little girl exclaimed today "I want to be 6" I told her it takes years to become older, she said " I want to be 6 now!". When we are children we cannot wait to grow up and when we are adults, we wish we had a carefree life like those of children! I'm enjoying my little one being 3, the years are racing past, I wish I could keep her this age forever, but Its also lovely to see how beautifully she is growing and changing everyday.  Love u my little booboo x

Fun outside

Sorry i've been so quiet lately, we have been enjoying the lovely warm weather. Today we spent time at the park with friends for an hour in the morning, its so lovely to be able to go out in the park in this weather, some days we spend hours there and take a picnic! After the park we came home for lunch then little miss played outside with a bowl of water and was "washing up" her toy tea set, wasnt long until she was sat in the washing up bowl! Waving at people as they passed, she had a great time and I see how she is growing and developing so beautifully. Now she is having a little rest with cbeebies on, she may even have a nap! Lets hope these dry, warm days last a while!

Busy Busy Busy!

What a busy day we have had, first I took princess to school, afterwards we went to the park, then to a playgroup, then again to the park! We hoped to go strawberry picking, but couldnt make it today due to being unable to get a lift to the place. Hopefully will go tomorrow or the weekend. Enjoyed our busy day and came home to eat noodles, take a bath together and watch chitty chitty bang bang! She fell asleep about 10 mins in to the film, now its time for me to relax a little before I fall asleep! Night all xx

For ALL you single mummys out there

Prayer for a Single Mother
Dear God, she seems to bear the weight of the world on her shoulders, but to carry it more lightly than I think I would. I see her balancing work and home, money and no money, friends who no longer make time to see her, and I send up a prayer for her.
Her old friends have moved on with their lives, and in truth, she doesn't have much in common with them anymore. She is lonely, loving God. She would like company but doesn't want to make time for new relationships because her waking hours are already full: she is a mother. She walks when gas is too expensive for the car and forgoes new clothes so her child can have shoes.
This is not how her life started out, but circumstances changed from her life of privilege to this life she embraces so fully. Her life is difficult and she seems so tired much of the time, but I am inspired by the love she has for her child.
Give her the strength to put in long hours each day; the courage to face those who dismiss her with blaming and knowing nods; the ability to maintain her loving life at home; and the deepest knowledge in her heart that you love her.

Prayer for my child

Bless This Little Child, Lord
Lord, look down from heaven above
And touch this special child with love.
Protect and guide this little one
'Till each and every day is done.
Remind us often that it's true:
This little life is a gift from you.
A miracle You've sent our way!
Lord, bless this little child today.

Holiday

I am currently saving money to take a holiday hopefully next year with my little princess. She wants to go to disneyland and also the beach. I personally would prefer to go somewhere with a beach than disneyland, plus its very expensive to go there. Any thoughts on a good place for a single mum? which would enable us both to have a good time. I want to avoid hotels which are full of people drinking alcohol all day. But if anyone knows of any good hotels, or area? which are affordable I would love to hear from you! Thankyou.

Sports day

Today was my little princess' first sports day, Unfortunately we didnt make it on time for her to take part in any race, but she didnt seem to realise this. We watched the older kids do sack races, egg and spoon and running. Afterwards the whole school had a picnic together which was lovely, the kids ran around playing while all the parents talked and had fun. Once the picnic finished I took her to play in the park with her friends. We are really enjoying the dry and warm weather, enables us to spend more time outside. Update on the milk intolerance, we so far tried rice and soya milk which she hated, my friend suggested goat milk, and she loves it! so im very pleased she will still beable to drink milk she she loves to have it before bed! My little one is in school all day tomorrow which will enable me to spend some time cleaning the house, which desperately needs doing!

This Doesnt completely relate to my life but is a nice video for a lot of single mothers out there, you are all doing a great job, listen to the words and let them be of inspiration to you :)

Poetry: Ode to a Single Mother
She's fixer of sinks and drier of tears Anxious, yet valiant allayer of fears.

She works a full day Commutes home, and then She works another full-time job, again.

She's master accountant And counselor, too She sets aside worries to listen to you.
There's laundry and cooking and cleaning to do. Homework, then bathtime A story or two.

She's finder of toys And righter of wrongs. She's busy. She's tired. She's lonely. She's strong.

When the day is done, The kids safely in bed, No energy's left for the thoughts in her head.

She turns them all off along with the lights. Crawls under covers - Gives in to the night.

Before the rise of the sun She be up and back to it. There's no other option No one else to do it.

If you, too, know this woman (she goes by many names) Applaud her, she belongs to no ascribed hall of fame.

But a tacit sisterhood, Arduous like no other, Of extraordinary women Also know as Single Mothers.

A Single Parent Poem

Single Parent

© Tiara S. Winston

I sit and look out upon the life of a single parent
I hear the single mother's selfless cries of loneliness for her child in the still darkness of the night
I see the mother awaking her child with a playful game of peek-a-boo with a smile as warm and bright as the afternoon sun at its apex of the day
I mark the loving kindness she expresses toward her son even with the all the trials and tribulations this world puts upon her
I observe the mother getting herself ready for work with the misgivings of the coming day (where are my socks, did I already put salt in the eggs, where did I put my keys)
I observe the quiet darkness of the child's bedroom with the mother sitting on the bed with a Bible in hand telling her child of all the wonderful things of Gods love then kissing him good night
All these things are things a mother has to do to help her child grow
See hear, and be not afraid you can succeed with Gods help

Poo!

Well yesterday started well with a trip to the health food shop to buy my lil one some rice milk as a substitute.. however she tried it and hated it! Will keep trying! Went to a playgroup, which was very quiet but had a nice time seeing a friend i've not seen for a while. On the way home lil miss said she needed to poo, i said "ok wait till we get off the bus"...as soon as we got off the bus she pulled her pants down and pooed on the street..oh the embarrassment!! I can laugh about it now, but we quickly ran away from the scene, hoping not to get fined for pooing on the street lol. She's not been well as mentioned in earlier posts and I guess she couldnt hold it any longer! Today we are planning to go to her summer school fair which includes tombola, games a raffle etc, a lot of things to waste money on, luckily at 3 my lil girl isnt bothered to have everything she sees, can easily be persuaded! Will post after the fair, hope the weather holds out!

Count your blessings!

Day 2 of spending the whole night in her own bed, my little girl is growing up so fast!. Took her to the doctor this morning to be told she is allergic to cows milk. Something she was intolerant to when she was a baby but I thought she had grown out of! Trying to find alternatives, i'm on the look out for small boxes of soya milk which she could take to school so she can have her drink of milk with all the other children. Not sure where I can buy these, anyone have any ideas?. Took lil lady to playgroup this afternoon where she had fun playing with all her friends, however for me it wasnt so fun! I cant help thinking life is easier as a single mum, as all the other parents moan, moan, moan about how hard their lives are.. moaning because they have to work everyday and then go home and cook? or how hard it is if their husband works away for one night and they have to deal with their children on their own! Do they not realise they are moaning to the wrong person?! for 3 years my life has been my daughter and I, its not always easy but I feel blessed to have a beautiful girl, a lovely home and some fantastic friends, isnt that whats more important? Sometimes we are so wrapped up in our own lives we forget about those less fortunate than ourselves and how others would dream about living lives like us. All those out looking for work and struggling to keep going, those who are ill and unable to do simple everyday things, those who cannot have children and wish more than anything that they could. So today please everyone count your blessings and remember to pray for those in need. Thanks for reading :)

Firsts..

Woke at 7:30 this morning to find the space next to me in bed... EMPTY!! My little girl always starts off sleeping in her own bed but also always climbs in with me at some point in the night. I cannot remember the last time she slept the whole night on her own! Another first for me was getting her to school on time.. yes I was waiting outside the class for it to open! last of all, I went out for lunch with friends on my own, I dont think I have ever done that in the last 3 years, it was so relaxing, I feel so refreshed today, must try and do it more often!! I was worried the school would call the entire time to say shes sick or something, but luckily that didnt happen and the day went to plan! After bathing together, running the nit comb through her hair (there are nits going round school, we have none yet thankfully!) and getting her in to pyjamas, she threw up all over my bed, which was lovely.. not! Anyway she doesnt seem ill and is now fast asleep on the sofa :). Lets hope she is all better for a new day tomorrow! Think I may keep her off school as she has been complaining a lot of stomach ache, and take her to see the doctor. Anyone had a similar experience of a toddler complaining a lot of stomach ache, what was the outcome? My thoughts are either lactose intolerant, tiredness, too much rich food or not being able to use the toilet easily at school? any other ideas?! Thanks for reading :)

Kfc on the floor and wearing pyjamas in public!

Once again my alarm clock (my 3 year old), woke up late and we had less than an hour to get us ready for the bus to a kids group I take her to! I ran around getting ready, with minutes to spare I realised I had forgotten to dress my little one! We had a brief arguement about her wearing pyjamas out the house, in the end she won due to lack of time and turned up to the group wearing pyjama trousers, odd socks and ugg boots. Oh well atleast we had caught the bus on time. My friend said "is she wearing pyjamas?" I said "erm, are they?" lol. Afterwards I spent time with my friend and her son. Our kids are growing up so nicely and have become very good friends :) .. they even share now!. Later on we went for the bus, as we got off my little one was saying she was hungry, I took my last £2 to buy her a kfc kids box, just as she was opening it, she let go and it blew away in the wind, all over the floor, my poor little princess was distraught, I felt terrible for her!! thankfully  my mum came to buy her another one. Thank God for mums!!

My First Blog

Well i'm new to all this, its my first ever blog. I am going to blog about my life as a single mother, firstly a little about me, I'm 25, live in Leeds, England and have a beautiful 3 year old daughter.

Today started by being woken at 8:30 am by my little darling asking if she can wear her princess dress... school starts at 9am, I knew we were already late! At least its not proper school yet, just pre school, we have a year to get ourselves on time! we rushed around got ready and were out the door for 9:55.. nothing new for us, we are never on time! Thankfully the teachers never question why we are late, and my little one just joins the class while I walk home to study or waste time online, or clean if i have to, but I really hate cleaning!!! My best friend drops her son at school and cleans everyday..please tell me i'm not the only one who has no interest in cleaning lol.  I really wish I did, I would love a tidy house everyday, but it just doesnt happen, and with noone coming home at night to expect a clean and tidy home, I dont feel the pressure to do it every single day! Anyone have an motivation tips for me to clean everyday?!
